0065 - Stefan

Interviewer's Note: Stefan is one of my favourite designers out there. He has his own design firm - Sagmeister & Walsh Inc., and has designed album covers for Lou Reed, OK Go, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, David Byrne, just to name a few. I first got to know about his existence via TED, where he gave a talk about Happiness. Since then, I have been following his updates and understanding/reading about his works.

Stefan Sagmeister / 50 / New York City, USA / Designer / sagmeisterwalsh.com / @sagmeisterwalsh

What do you live for? And why?
To try to do work that is meaningful, meaning work that either helps or delights people.

What is some of the best advice that you have been given/want to give our readers?
This advice came from Tibor Kalman: The most difficult thing in running a design studio is to figure out how to stay small. Everything else is easy.

Complete this sentence: Life is too short to...
...spend it with nasty people.

Something random you'd like to say?
Ointment.
